    Nights I've Played

    The Gallery

Real weddings, real parties, real dance floors — all shot on the night, most of them from behind the booth.

    From Behind the Booth

The first dance is only the start of it

The booth has the best seat in the house. From cutting the cake to welcoming the newly married couple onto the floor for their first dance as husband and wife, I'm the one calling the room — and, more often than not, the one quietly taking the photograph nobody else was in position for.

Then comes the moment that makes the night: inviting family and friends to join the happy couple, and watching an empty floor fill in a matter of seconds. Every picture below was taken at a real event.

    Recent nights, start to finish

Every picture and clip from a single night, kept together — open one to see how the evening ran, from the empty room to the last song.

    Clips

    The bits the photographer misses

Clips make a very important memory of the celebration, and often the best of them come after the official photo team have left for the evening. These are mine, shot on the night.

On the rig for Show Me Love

The milestone birthday from behind the desk — the stage lit, the live act on and everything running.

Sound and lighting for Show Me Love

On the rig rather than the decks — stacks in, moving heads up and the marquee lit, then the floor once the night got going.

Set up, long before the doors opened

A walk through the room while it is still empty — tables dressed, uplighting set to the scheme and the backdrop lit, with hours to spare.

The room, before the doors opened

The panelled hall set for the evening — cake on the table, booth in, lighting up and waiting on the guests.

The first dance, and the proud dad

A fun-filled first dance, then dad doing his thing with a pre-planned dance the room had clearly been waiting for.

A crowd who stayed on the floor

They stayed on the floor and partied all night long. This was a joy for me to perform at — the crowd made it so easy.

    Before the doors open

We start by capturing a walk-round clip with everything set up and the room lit, just waiting on the guests.

This could be your celebration room

Red carpet down, ropes out, ready for arrivals.

The first dance, and the room joins in

First dance with dad, then guests joining in — the moment an empty floor fills in seconds.

    Dad and daughter

Once in a while we play a celebration where I don't want a finish time. This was that one — a stunning bride, a fantastic dress, a perfect first dance, and then the dad and daughter doing their thing.

Sound and tech for other acts

We also provide sound and technical support for other acts — some sing, some dance, some do all of it, and do it very well indeed.

    Dance shows we've supported

One of the dance shows we've provided sound and lighting for.

We all love a busy dance floor.

Filling it from the very first track to the final encore is the part of the job I still turn up for.
